His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Riyadh, launched the third Cultural Festival for People with Disabilities (Cultural Movements) organized by King Saud University in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Badran Al-Omar and a number of personalities, and lasted for two days. <\/span><\/p>\n Upon the arrival of His Highness, he launched the accompanying exhibition in which more than 30 governmental, private and public agencies participated\u2019 The event included an art exhibition in which artists with special needs present their works in plastic art, photography and visual arts.Artistic workshops were conducted with the participation and supervision of the General Culture Authority. His Highness toured the staff participating in the exhibition. <\/span><\/p>\n After that, the speech ceremony\u00a0 commenced on this occasion in the hall of Sheikh Hamad Al-Jasser. It started with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, then His Excellency the Director of King Saud University Dr. Badran Al-Omar delivered a speech in which he welcomed His Highness the Deputy Governor of Riyadh Region, and explained in details the university\u2019s celebration of the International Day of Disability. It comes from the principle that our government provides all capabilities for people with special needs and gives them their full rights just like other members of society. <\/span><\/p>\n Dr. Al-Omarn added that King Saud University is keen to hold such a celebration as part of its efforts to raise awareness of the rights and duties of people with special needs, and to emphasize its pioneering role in serving them, as it was one of the first universities to open its doors and accept students with special needs in the Gulf. His Excellency affirmed that the university follows the directives of the wise leadership that supports people with special needs at the official and social levels, in addition to what the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 has adopted in terms of offering training and rehabilitation initiatives for this dear group, indicating that all efforts aim to provide services that meet the aspirations of people with special needs.<\/span><\/p>\n Their inclusion in society in all its groups and segments is the path to a modern economic development, empowering people with special needs, and providing them with the opportunity to work and learn to be effective and contributing elements in national development. The director of King Saud University thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and his trustworthy Crown Prince – may God protect them -; For the care and concern they provide for citizens of all segments, and for their continuous and generous support for King Saud University. <\/span><\/p>\n He also thanked His Highness the Deputy Governor of Riyadh Region for the support he provided to the university, and he thanked the curator for this celebration. After that, His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman honored the entities and individuals who have contributed to the service of people with special needs as well as the supporters of the Harakat Festival in its third session. The ceremony concluded with a play entitled \u201cAyaql\u201d – Is this believable- with the participation of theatrical talents from people with special needs.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
